Marlon Samuels starred as West Indies cricket team defeated Afghanistan national cricket team by seven wickets in the final fixture of the three-match T20 International series at Warner Park in St. Kitts on Monday to win the series 3-NIL.

Samuels scored an imperious unbeaten 89 to guide the Windies to victory.

Replying to the tourists’ total of 146 for six, the right-hander’s highest-ever T20 International innings took the home side to the target with four balls to spare.

He deservedly won both the “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series” awards in a format of the game in which he has excelled in the latter stage of his long international career.

Afghanistan now prepares to take on the West Indies in three One-Day Internationals in St. Lucia starting on Friday.
