Six students competed in the finals of the 2017 Lions Club South/FLOW National Secondary Schools Public Speaking competition yesterday October 25, at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

They all took on three presentations including the main speech on the topic “The emergence of Donald Trump politically has fuel a frightening set of extremism in the USA and to some extent across the globe.”

Jaykwarn Donald-Payne of the St. Vincent Grammar school took first place and walked away with the late Michael De freitas winner’s trophy.

Alejandro Tesorero of St. Joseph Convent Marriaqua in second position and Joel Ross of St. Martin’s Secondary School in third position.
Reyann Williams of the Mountain View Seventh Day Adventist took the winning place of the impromptu speech.

Students prepared speech went to Jaykwarn Donald-Payne of the St.Vincent Grammar School.
