Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has announced that Senator Jomo Thomas the Unity Labour Party (ULP) Area Representative for South Leeward will be proposed as the Speaker of the House of Assembly when Parliament convenes on December 29th.
Delivering remarks at yesterday’s swearing in ceremony at Heritage Square for the new Cabinet Ministers, Dr. Gonsalves said a proposal will also be made to have Carlos James, the ULP Area Representative for North Leeward elected as Deputy Speaker of the House.
Prime Minister Gonsalves pointed out that heavy responsibility has been assigned to several newer or younger members of the Cabinet.
