A 59-year-old teacher in Jamaica will appear in court on January 5th next year after she was charged with beating a student with a ruler at the prestigious St. Richard’s Primary School in St. Andrew.

The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reported that the grade five teacher, Beverly Dinnall, was charged and offered station bail at 50,000 Jamaica dollars.

It is alleged that the teacher hit the male student with a ruler, resulting in a shoulder injury. Following a medical examination, a report was made to the police culminating in charges being brought against the teacher.
