A delegation of approximately 20 tertiary level students from Jamaica arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday November 1st, 2015 as part of an initiative by the CARICOM Secretariat programme dubbed “Students engaging in the CSME through Field Promotion”.

The objective of the programme is to engage the next generation in identifying career possibilities with regard to wage employment, as well as starting and maintaining a business CSME.

The mission will not only theoretically expose the students to the CSME, but includes practical engagement with its operations in a meaningful way.

Addressing the students at a ceremony this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room, Director of Trade Mr. Cuthbert Knights urged the delegation to see this Mission as an educational opportunity, one that would allow them to become better aware about the CSME and the opportunities offered.

Mr. Knights also appealed to the students to be vigilant and to ask questions when they visit the various Government Ministries, Departments and other institutions.

The Jamaican delegation will be in state from November 1st–7th, 2015.
