The Ministry of Education is currently hosting a workshop on Reading Intervention Strategies for teachers of the classes Grades 3 and 5.

Involved teachers are expected to share the knowledge with their work colleagues upon returning to school.

The Reading Intervention Workshop which started yesterday Wednesday, October 18, continues today Thursday October 19, at the Girls’ Guides Headquarters.

The Workshop that was scheduled to begin at 8:30 am this morning will run until 3:00 pm today.

The Reading Intervention activity coincides with the implementation of the Early Learners Programme (ELP), which is designed to improve the reading achievement levels of learners in Grades K to grade 3.

The ELP is being implemented in 6 states across the OECS and is based on the premise that students can achieve substantially higher in the early grades, if their reading attainment level is improved.
