The professionals at the HIV/Aids Unit in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment will be hosting a special initiative in an effort to continue to promote and encourage safe sex practices, ahead of Valentine’s Day on February 14th.

This Valentine’s Day initiative dubbed “♥Carefully” falls under the Unit’s strategic objective of establishing friendly, comprehensive, gender-sensitive and targeted prevention programmes to prevent sexual transmission of HIV.

It also falls under the umbrellas of developing strategies to address social and structural approaches to HIV/STI/TB prevention care and impact, as well as preventing new cases of HIV/STI/TB, both of which are among the Ministry’s plans and priorities for 2016.

On Friday, February 12th, the HIV/AIDS Unit will host an event from 10 am to 4 pm at the SINGER GALLERY.

HIV rapid testing will also be promoted and offered on that day at the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment’s main offices, upstairs the General Post Office in Kingstown, and “love packages” will be distributed to the general public, including items that promote safe sex practices, information on safe sex practices, paraphernalia, as well as the most associated item for Valentine’s day, chocolate and candy.
