This country’s longstanding institution for the development of at risk girls was last night the victim of a fire that destroyed the building that was located in cane end Mesopotamia.

Guadalupe Home for Girls founded by the St Joseph’ Sisters, more specifically Sister Patricia Ann Douglas, the deceased Principal of the St Joseph’ Convent Mesopotamia, whose brainchild it was to establish the home.

The SVG Human Rights Association, Marion House and the Network of NGO’ has immediately committed to pledge a monetary contribution of EC $2 000 each towards the rebuilding of this strategic, pertinent, critical Catholic Home, in the interest of Youths, particularly Young Women’ social, educational, spiritual and economic empowerment.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Human Rights Association takes this opportunity to partner with Marion House; the Catholic agency that visits the Girls each Wednesday to dialogue and provide therapeutic sessions and any other Government or NGO’ to provide much needed support and services to the Girls during this trying point in their individual and collective lives.
