Following statements made by the Prime Minister of Grenada Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has released a statement addressing the matter and outlining two main inaccuracies in Mitchell’s statements, those inaccuracies being that “that the borders of St.Vincent and the Grenadines were, and are, open at the time of COVID-19” and that the Prime Minister Gonsalves encouraged or invited residents of Carriacou and Petit Martinique to enter the country in defiance of Grenada’s closure of ports, curfew and lockdown.

“I feel sured that when you are seized of all the facts, including those which I have outlined herein, you are likely to reflect that your ellegation of “irresponsibility” against me is wholly unfounded and wrong-headed” said Gonsalves in the statement.

The Prime Minister in the statement also went on to say that the two longest serving Prime Minister’s in CARICOM have better things to do with their time than to “throw words” across the Caribbean Sea.
