The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has officially received ten school buses which were procured to meet the transportation needs of the school population along various routes across St. Vincent.

The procurement and preparation of the buses were jointly financed through a grant of US$30,000 from the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and approximately EC$130,200 from the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Minister of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government, Julian Francis in addressing yesterday’s handing over ceremony at the E. T. Joshua Parking Lot at Arnos Vale expressed thanks to the government and people of Taiwan for their generous donation.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Ambassador Der-Li Liu, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan said the procurement of the ten school buses came as a result of discussions Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves had with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen in October last year.
