The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) yesterday presented scholarships to 416 Primary, Secondary and tertiary level students here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
His Excellency Ambassador Baushuan Ger of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in presenting the scholarships at a ceremony held at the Peace Memorial Hall, congratulated the recipients and encouraged them to make good use of the scholarship to better themselves, the society, the country and even the world.
He pointed out that the “Human Resources Development Program” has been implemented since 1998, and every year the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) allocates US$100,000 to help financially challenged students complete their education.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education, Hon. Girlyn Miguel in her remarks, expressed appreciation to the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for assistances in education and many other areas.
She highly praised Taiwan’s education quality and encouraged recipients to make the best of the scholarship, and thrive for excellence in their education journey.
