The Cabinet on Wednesday agreed to increase the number of scholarships offered by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to young people who would have performed outstandingly at the 2015 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).

Dr. Gonsalves said the 14 national scholars would have scored 80% and above in their exams.

Prime Minister Gonsalves also said that in a few weeks the government will be distributing 745 cheques of $500 each to secondary school and Community College students who performed well in this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and CAPE examinations.

Dr. Gonsalves says he has also advised that 65 persons be enrolled in the next batch for the Nursing programme.
