Forty-six persons in the North Leeward communities of Spring Village, Fitz Hughes, Kakarta and Chateaubelair, who have been occupying lands for several years, were presented with letters of offer for ownership of housing lots, at a ceremony on Friday.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Housing in the collaboration with the Housing and Land Development Corporation.
The housing lots are being offered to the residents of those areas at a cost of 10 cents per square foot.
Speaking at the ceremony Prime minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves noted that Housing is a human right, and added that his government has distributed more housing lots than all of the previous government in this country, combined.
Meanwhile, a ceremony for the distribution of housing lots and Houses will be held this Friday at Noel in Sandy Bay beginning at 3:00pm.
Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will be the feature speaker at the event.
