Rishona James of the Girls High School won the Championship Trophy in the 2019 Flow/Lions Club South National Secondary Schools’ Public Speaking Competition, which was held last evening at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

Apart from winning the overall title, James also won the Main Topic category of the competition where the students discussed the topic “Should individuals who claim to be LGBTQ be afforded all human rights prescribed under international law?”.

James also placed 1st for the Impromptu Category, with her topic Exams.

Second place overall went to Sharyan Bowman– Mountain View Adventist Academy who placed 1st with her Students prepared speech minivan hustle.

Third place went to Danielson Ferguson– St. Vincent Grammer School
The other finalists were Eldonte Samuel of the Bishop’s College Kingstown , Vickron Alexander of the Union Island Secondary School and Stephen Lavia of the Intermediate High School.
