The Barrouallie Fisheries Development Co-operative in conjunction with the Barrouallie Community Committee will be hosting the next Bagga Fish Festival this Friday September 1, 2017.

The festival is now scheduled to be held on the first Friday in each month.

Some of the objectives of the event are to: to promote the consumption of local fish and other local products; act as a source of employment and empowerment as it assists in poverty alleviation and improve the economic activity of the community and the environs.

The event also seeks to build a national festival with an international appeal and help to enhance our tourism product.

The organizers are encouraging corporate citizens and individuals who are interested in the development of Barrouallie to partner with them in this festival by helping to achieve the objectives and to make it a national event.

The entire family is invited to experience a wide variety of dishes at tomorrow’s event which will also see patrons being able to receive “back to school give aways.”

The activity will be held at the Central Square in Barrouallie from 6:00pm.
