The Electoral Office has refuted allegations made against the Office on Tuesday, November 17th, 2015 concerning the registration of Nigerian students resident in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Supervisor of Elections, Ms. Sylvia Findlay said in a statement that the Electoral Office is aware of the fact that five medical students who were born in Nigeria and who have been resident here for periods ranging from one to three years were registered in the East Kingstown constituency on November 16th, 2015, and not sixteen students as reported in the media.

She said that prior to November 16th, 2015 there are six Nigerian medical students who are registered as voters here.

They include one student who is registered in Marriaqua; one in East Kingstown; two in West St. George and two in East St. George.
