Chairman of the ECCB Monetary Council Dr. Keith Mitchell, has commended the ECCB on its introduction of New Family of EC Polymer Notes.

Dr. Mitchell, who is also Grenada’s Prime Minister – made the comment during a regional Media Launch held here yesterday morning – for residents of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) – to introduce the new Polymer Bank Notes – to be issued by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).

Addressing the launch via a video conference, Dr. Keith Mitchell, Chairman of the ECCB Monetary Council and Prime Minister of Grenada commended the ECCB’s for its vision, noting that it is a clear demonstration of leadership, innovation and commitment in protecting the EC currency.

Presentations of encapsulated notes were made to Lady Lynda Venner wife of the late Sir K Dwight Venner, former Governor of the ECCB and Dr. Keith Mitchell, Chairman of the ECCB Monetary Council.

The new polymer 50 EC dollar note – will be released next month, while the 100, 20 and 10 dollar notes – will be released in August and September of this year.
