The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) wishes to confirm that an earthquake occurred this morning and was felt by persons on mainland St Vincent. According to the Seismic Research Center of the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad, at 7:01 am, an earthquake was generated 125km North East of Barbados at a depth of 10km. It measured 5.7 on the magnitude scale.

The earthquake was reported felt in various places on St Vincent, in Barbados and in St Lucia.

There was no threat of a Tsunami from this tremor.

NEMO has not received any report of damage from the earthquake.

  1. Yes I did felt the earthquake ,the specific time is correct. It was not heavy to me ,it lasted for for little over i,one
    minute when i realised its earthquake and not my
    bed .
