Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys argue that federal prosecutors are unfairly targeting him because he is Black, calling the case an example of “bad faith” and “racial animus.” In a new court filing, they sought to dismiss a prostitution-related charge against him.

Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, is accused of transporting escorts across state lines for extended sexual encounters. His attorneys claim no white person has faced similar prosecution, citing former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer as an example of someone who was not charged under similar circumstances.

The defense contends that hiring escorts is common among high-profile individuals and that Combs is being unfairly singled out. They argue that neither the escort service nor its other clients have faced federal charges, reinforcing their claim of selective prosecution.
