Persons in St. Vincent and the Grenadines who have not yet been able to clear their barrels for the 2017 Christmas season, now have an opportunity to benefit from the duty-free concession on barrels imported offered by the government.

This as the concession has been extended to January 15, 2018.

Speaking at a press conference this morning, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said this extension has been granted due to the late arrival of some vessels transporting the barrels.

The 2017 duty-free concession on barrels commenced on November 15, 2017, and was initially scheduled to end on December 31, 2017, however it has now been extended.

The year 2017 marked the 17th consecutive year the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has offered this duty free barrel programme for the Christmas Season.
