This country’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Simone Keizer Beache is urging the Vincentian public to seek medical care early when it comes to Dengue fever. The CMO made the appeal while appearing as a guest on VC3’s Roundtable Talk.

“We have some persons who went to get medical care around day 5, Day 6, and we know that around day 4 typically, is when; if you’re going to have a bad outcome, that’s when it happens, so that if you were to present and day 5 or day 6, the likelihood of being in the state of severe Dengue fever is greater. So, hence our push for persons to seek care early.” The CMO said.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is currently in the midst of a Dengue Fever outbreak which has resulted in 655 laboratory confirmed cases and 6 deaths so far.
