The Carnival Development Corporation held a news conference this morning at the CDC’s conference room at the Victoria Park – to update the nation on Carnival and other related activities – as the final activities for Vincy Mas 2019 are being held.
In his remarks at this morning’s news conference, Minister of Culture Cecil McKie – commended the CDC for its efforts towards making Vincy Mas the hottest Carnival in the Caribbean.
Minister Mc Kie said he is pleased with the full calendar of events put on by both the CDC and various Private organizers.
He also indicated that following a meeting between the cultural ministers of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago in November of 2018 – a decision was made to this year establish a cultural exchange between the countries, which will begin with an appearance of Barbados reigning Soca Monarch Mike Thompson, at the Soca Monarch competition, slated for the Victoria Park on July 6th 2018.
