The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has announced the names of the finalists for the 2018 Junior Calypso Soca competition which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Victoria Park.

The finalists in the Junior Calypso Primary School category are: Kailey Cyrus of C W Prescod Primary School with her song Discipline; Fidel Cyrus of Kingstown Anglican School with his song Way Daddy Dey; Matthew John-Stubbs Government School, Welcome A.I.A; Alexio Edwards-Gomea Methodist School, Youths Wakeup; Tevanjay Joseph-Sandy Bay Primary School, I Can’t Be You; Daneila Hinson -New Prospect Primary School, In These Times; and Danique Edwards of Greggs Government School with the song A.I.A is Good.

The defending Monarch is Kristian Christopher of Layou Government School.

In the Junior Calypso Secondary School category, the finalists are: Christopher Bacchus of St. Martin’s Secondary School, Caribbean Dream; Damien Noel-St. Martin’s Secondary School, Silence Never; Daleann Nero-Sandy Bay Secondary School, All Rise; Delisha Nero-Sandy Bay Secondary School, Who is Politricks; Tyrique Thomas-St. Vincent Grammer School, War; M’Riah Robertson -West St. George Secondary, Mini Van Lover; and ChaChani Morgan-St. Vincent Girls High School, Conflict Resolution.

The defending Monarch is Kristiana Christopher of Thomas Saunders Secondary.

The finalists for the Junior Soca Monarch are Danique Edwards of Greiggs Government School with the song Sugar in the Soca; Rashide Rocque-St. Vincent Grammar School, Soca Vybe; Kevisha Richardson-Biabou Methodist School, Carnival is My Time; Delisha Brackin-Sandy Bay Secondary School, Vex; Tyrell Rodriguez-Greiggs Government School, Vincy Love to Party; Teshika Andrews-Bishops College Kingstown, Cut Dem Off; and Tyrique Thomas of St. Vincent Grammar School, Good Life.

The defending Monarch is M’Riah Robertson of West St. George Secondary.
