CARICOM Secretary General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque has extended sincere congratulations to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves on the election victory of his Unity Labour Party (ULP) and his re-election to office as this nation’s leader.
In a congratulatory letter to Dr. Gonsalves dated December 10th, Ambassador LaRocque said the Victory of the Unity Labour Party is historic, marking the first time that a party has won four consecutive elections in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He said it is a clear demonstration that the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines have continued confidence in Dr. Gonsalves leadership and the ability of his government to maintain the progress achieved and to guide them safely through the challenging times which now prevail.
The Secretary General says he have come to value highly the insights Dr. Gonsalves has shared with him, and added that the Caribbean Community will continue to benefit his wise counsel and experience as one of the longest serving members of the Conference of Heads of Government.
