The High Commission of Canada for Barbados and the OECS – is welcoming the proposals of Vincentians, under the 2019-2020 Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this program is designed to fund small-scale, eligible countries like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The program is directed at projects conceived and designed by local entities and are selected and approved by the High Commission of Canada for Barbados and the OECS based in Barbados.
The focus of this year’s program is gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, which specifically refers to sexual and gender-based violence, child and early forced marriage, gender mutilation and cutting; strengthening women’s organizations; and strengthening the capacity and systems of state and non-state actors to advance gender equality.
