Members of the Biabou Senior Citizens Health and Fitness group would be involved in a fitness walk, dubbed “Heroes Walk”.

The walk is scheduled for this Wednesday March 14-National heroes Day- and will begin at 6:30 am, from the Biabou Learning Resource Centre, northwards to the Reaves Level gap and back.

This walk forms part of a series of activities leading up to the group’s tenth anniversary on February 26, 2019. These activities were unveiled at a launching ceremony at the Biabou Hard Court on February 25, 2018.

The next activity would be a visitation to the shut-in members during the month of April.

The Biabou Senior Citizens Health and Fitness Group is an initiative of the Health Promotion Unit, within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, as part of its response to the Port of Spain Declaration (2007) agreed to by the Caribbean Heads of Governments, as a regional strategy to combat Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases.

The goal of the group is to promote the health and wellbeing of senior citizens of Biabou and surrounding areas.
