Barbados’ Principals are working with the country’s Ministry of Education to ensure all COVID-19 protocols are in place when face-to-face classes resume later this month.
President of the Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools, Stephen Jackman, said that the ministry had taken note of their suggestions on the best way forward.
“All I can say is that we are continuing to work with the ministry to have schools ready for April 19 and 20 reopenings. I can say that the principals have had consultations with the ministry and they listened to the things we had to say,” he said briefly.
The protocols that will guide schools from April 19 have yet to be announced.
Barbados’ Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw said teachers and staff would return on April 19, while Class 3 and 4 primary school pupils, as well as fifth and sixth form students at secondary school, resume on April 20th.
