Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic is standing firm behind Government’s protocols for the restart of commercial flights into Barbados.

This reaffirmation was in response to concerns raised by the medical fraternity as well as the Opposition People’s Party for Democracy and Development (PdP), about whether the country was courting danger by implementing lax COVID-19 mitigation protocols.

Among the concerns was that the 72-hour window between passengers taking the test and boarding the flight was too long a lag period and would allow ample time for persons to become infected just before entering the country.

This concern was compounded by an out-of-control rise in cases in the United States.
