An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 rocked several part of Antigua yesterday causing widespread panic but there were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre in Trinidad indicated that the quake, which occurred at 4:26pm, was located at a depth of 21.43 kilometers.

According to the Antigua Observer, reports indicate that the quake was felt in countries such as Montserrat and St. Kitts.

One resident in Antigua told reporters that items on his wall fell to the ground and another said the quake was the most intense he has felt in many years.
