The Agricultural and Feeder Roads Projects Loan Authorisation Bill was passed during yesterday’s Meeting of Parliament.
The Bill was tabled by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, to authorize the Government to secure a loan to assist in financing the Agricultural and Feeder Roads Project.
In presenting the measure, Prime Minister Gonsalves said the Government has been doing fairly well in maintaining the main highways.
The Prime Minister said the secondary roads need attention and the Government has signed a loan agreement for 18.52-million U.S. dollars with the OPEC Fund for International Development, OFID.
During yesterday’s meeting of Parliament a special recognition session was held at which time Members of Parliament paid tribute to former Attorney General Judith Jones Morgan, who is now on retirement.
Parliament has been adjourned until Tuesday October 24 at ten in the morning.
