St. Vincent and the Grenadines still has 17 registered cases of Covid-19 with 8 active cases and 9 persons having recovered.

The announcement was made by Minister of Health, Luke Browne, during a press conference at the NIS conference room on Thursday.

Updating the nation on several matters of development relating to the Ministry’s handling of the Pandemic, Minister Browne said the Isolation center is almost complete and patients can be transferred to that facility if necessary.

Where the schools are concerned, the Minister pointed out that the Education department made a presentation to Cabinet Wednesday, to have the matter finalized.

Minister Browne said the Ministry of health has bolstered its health capacity and there is ongoing discussion about lifting the lockdown, however he noted that there are protocols that must be maintained, in order to curb the spread of the virus.

He added that SVG has been receiving a lot of support from various governmental organizations, in its fight against the virus.
