The 2nd phase of Exercise Trade Winds 2019 will culminate here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines tomorrow, with a closing ceremony at the Victoria Park.

The ceremony will begin at 10 in the morning and will hear addresses from police commissioner Colin John, US Ambassador to Barbados and the OECS, Her Excellency Linda Taglia-latela, and Lieutenant General Michael Plehn- Deputy Commander for the US Southern Command.

The feature address will be delivered by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Commerce and Trade – Sir Louis Straker.

Prior to the start of the closing ceremony, troops from the 19 participating countries will parade from the Central Kingstown Police Station to the Victoria Park.

Exercise Trade Winds is a combined joint exercise – conducted in three phases, which focuses on building the capacity of US and Caribbean forces – to better respond to Natural disasters, as well as land and maritime threats.
