Ten local designers will be showcasing their talent and skill when the 2017 Annual Courts Fashionista competition takes place later today.

This year’s competition is open to both amateur and professional designers, who are being given an equal chance of capturing this year’s top prize.

Lisa Veira – Commercial Officer at Courts SVG Limited said the Finalists, who were narrowed down from a field of more than 26 applicants, are drawn from various communities across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Miss Veira said the aim of today’s show, is to expose hidden talent in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

She said the designs will be judged on creativity, presentation, originality, similarity to the sketch provided the actual design, craftsmanship, crowd response and biggest posse.

The Courts Fashionista Finalists 2017 are: Olecia Lynch from Layou, Chenise Hendrickson also from Layou, Owen Paul- Campden Park, Roger Brasil- Old Montrose, Tellisa Dougan – Belmont, Chelsea Bacchus –Diamond Estate, Rachael Caesar- Barrouallie, Travern Adams- Campden Park, Sashe Rogers- Biabou and Zascha Robertson from Penniston.

This year, the winner of the Courts Fashionista Competition will walk away with $2500 in cash amongst other prizes. The 1st Runner UP will walk away with $1000 and 2nd Runner Up will receive $500.

Last year’s winner was Jamal Jacobs of McKies Hill.

The fourth Edition of the Courts Fashionista Competition takes place from 4:30 this afternoon at the courts building in Kingstown.
