Over one hundred and ten students from post secondary institutions here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be presented with bursaries this afternoon from the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Throughout the month of November, almost 800 bursaries will be officially awarded to students at the primary, secondary and post-secondary levels under the Taiwanese Human Resource Development Programme.

This investment, valued at over 500,000 EC dollars, represents about 95% increase over the number of scholarships presented in 2016.

Since 1998, thousands of Vincentian students and their families have benefitted from the Taiwanese Human Resource Development Scholarship Programme.

The initiative is based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Today’s handing over ceremony takes place from 1:30pm at the Glen Campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
