A consultation with all the various stakeholders connected with the regional airline, LIAT, is to be held here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines later this year, pertaining to the restructuring of the airline.

The meeting to be hosted by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is tentatively scheduled for October 22, 2018.

Speaking in Parliament this morning, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that discussions have been completed on the technical committee report of LIAT and have adopted one of the three restructuring options for the airline that was proposed and have which has the support of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

Prime Minister Gonsalves, who is also Chairman of the Major Shareholders, noted that other governments and territories that are served by LIAT are expected to be involved in the upcoming consultation.

LIAT’s shareholder governments are Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Antigua and Dominica.
