Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has reiterated his stance that St. Vincent and the Grenadines stands in solidarity “with the government and people of Venezuela, amid the current ongoing crisis in the South American country.

He made the remark while on board the Simón Bolívar School Training Vessel last Thursday June 15, 2017.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said St. Vincent and the Grenadines stands in solidarity “with the government and people of Venezuela against the attempts by imperialists who want to interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela… We stand firm in defense of its sovereignty and independence and we encourage peace and constructive dialogue”.

Also, Dr. Gonsalves referred to incident where “complicit in dictatorship’ was spray-painted on the wall of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Ambassador’s residence in Venezuela.

Prime Minister Gonsalves called the perpetrator(s) enemies of the friendship between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.

He reiterated that the visit of the Simón Bolívar School Training Vessel strengthens our friendship and bonds with Venezuela.

The Simón Bolívar School Training Vessel is making its 29th exterior cruise to Latin America and the Caribbean. The vessel is home to 186 men and women from the armies of Venezuela, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Panama, Suriname, and Nicaragua.
