Representatives of various community groups, organizations and individuals from around the country involved in staging Christmas and Nine Mornings activities, will gather this Saturday October 13, at the Peace Memorial Hall as the SVG Nine Mornings Committee step up preparations for the 2018 Festivities.

Saturday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30am, and issues on the agenda for consideration includes: the Nine Mornings commemorative magazine, Community reports, the revival of the National Caroling Contest, Launch of the festival and new innovative competitions for 2018.

In attendance will be officials from the Ministry of Culture and the SVG Nine Mornings Committee.

Minister of Culture, Cecil Mckie is expected to address the gathering.

The SVG Christmas/Nine Mornings festival which takes place throughout the month of December will be officially launched on Sunday December 2, with a street parade, Christmas Concert and Lighting of Heritage Square and climaxing with the Nine Mornings festivities from December16 to 24.

The Nine Mornings Committee says that already a number of villages have begun their preparations for the 2018 season. In 2017 the festival continued to do well with 47 communities staging activities.
