An official launching ceremony will be held on Monday November 27 for the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project.

The ceremony will take place, at the National Insurance Services (NIS) Conference Room, commencing at 9:30am on Monday.

It will be hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Planning and Sustainable Development.

The purpose of the project is to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism sector and increase tourism revenues.

It is financed by a World Bank Group, credit of EC$13.4 million, with a five year implementing period.

Expected results of the project include the rehabilitation of Fort Charlotte, development of a tourism website and the upgrading of anchorage sites.
