The Internet Society St. Vincent and the Grenadines Chapter, in collaboration with the American Registry for Internet Numbers and the Caribbean Network Operators Group, is hosting a National Cyber Security Symposium here from today.

The two-day event commenced this morning at Frenches House in Kingstown and is being attended by a number of Computer Network Operators, Information Technology Professionals, Researchers and Students.

Participants are expected from across the Eastern Caribbean, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Local Coordinator of the symposium, Roxanne John, says the forum which will offer a holistic view of the issues, threats, myths and opportunities for defending and strengthening digital infrastructure against cyber-attacks.

The event will also promote awareness of solutions and practical strategies that will return attendees to their organisations better equipped to take action and be more effective in areas such as Security and Privacy, Incident Management, and Network Resilience.
