St. Vincent and the Grenadines will on Saturday September 14th join with countries across the Caribbean, to observe Caribbean Wellness Day.

The event held annually – is geared at increasing awareness and promoting activities to address non-communicable diseases, which are recognized as a threat to one’s wellbeing and continue to severely impact the health, economy and development of Caribbean States and countries.

This year, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, through the Health Promotion Unit will host a symposium on Tuesday, 17th September, 2019, at the conference room, Ministry of Health from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Topics to be addressed include healthy aging during pregnancy, healthy ageing for children and infants, healthy aging during teenage years, healthy aging during adulthood and healthy aging for the elderly.

For 2019, the focus is on improving the quality of life of the ageing population, with the slogan, Healthy Ageing Starts Now.
