The government will be allocating some two million dollars this year towards the Support for Education and Training (SET) Program.

The SET program which was officially launched in March 2014, allows for university graduates and graduates of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College to receive one-year internships at various government departments and state agencies.

Under the SET program, funded by PetroCaribe, university graduates receive a monthly stipend of $2,000 while Community College graduates receive $1,000.

Speaking on radio yesterday morning, where he outlined a number of Public Sector investment programmes for 2016 Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that so far 234 persons have benefitted from the program over the past two years.

He also outlined the plans regarding the Regional Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project.
