The Incident Command System (ICS) Training Course currently taking place at the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) Headquarters will continue tomorrow November 29, 2018 with two live emergency response exercises.

These exercises will include a mass casualty motor vehicular accident on the main public road between the Imani Pre-School and the Nurses Hostel.

The ICS training course being conducted by officials of the Regional Security System (RSS) features participation from more than thirty stakeholders drawn from the Police Force, Fire Department, Coast Guard, Her Majesty’s Prisons, SVG Cadets Corps, NEMO, the Ministry of Health, Argyle International Airport and the SVG Port Authority.

Members of the general public are asked to take note that due to the holding of the live emergency response training exercises tomorrow, the portion of the Mandela Highway between the junction at NEMO Headquarters and the Caribbean Imaging Centre will be closed to pedestrians and motorists between 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm.

Motorists leaving Kingstown to Leeward will travel along the Mandela Highway, make a left turn along the New Montrose Public Road in the vicinity of the Caribbean Medical Imaging Centre, and make a right turn after the New Montrose Hotel, onto the main Mandela Highway and exit at the Botanical Gardens Gap.

Motorists entering Kingstown from Leeward are advised to turn left at the Botanical Gardens Gap, make a right turn, and drive through Block 2000 then into Kingstown via the St. Martin Secondary School route or Stone Grounds.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution when using the roads. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
