(WEFM NEWS) — The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has imposed an immediate temporary ban on the importation and sale of all beef and poultry products from Brazil, including corned beef.
This is according to a release, circulated to the Media on Wednesday evening (March 22nd, 2017), from the Ministry of Economic Planning, Sustainable Development, Industry, Internal Trade, Information & Labour.
“Further the order has been issued for the removal of ALL such products from the shelves of every establishment” – the release stated.
The move comes after Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago made similar moves, in the wake of the recent rotten beef and poultry scandal in Brazil, the country where many of the affected brands come from.
