The 2015 Annual Review Meeting of the Canada/Caribbean Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme is taking place this week at the Beachcombers Hotel.

The meeting brings together delegates from the seven Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) countries, as well as Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago to chart the way forward for the Programme, which employs thousands of Vincentians and other Caribbean Nationals.

Former Chief Liaison Officer of the OECS, Joseph “Burns” Bonadie told WEFM News that the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme is a very important one not only for this country but also the rest of the Caribbean.

Mr. Bonadie says that among the objectives of the meeting is to set the new wages for the workers.
